Episode 25: Moaning Mermaids
It’s our penultimate episode of season 2, and we’re diving in with this week‘s topic: mermaids. We explore pop culture’s finest finned folk, and speak with writer and director Adriana Vecchioli about her upcoming horror movie project “Mermaids”. We’re welcomed, to the Hissin’ and Kissin’ podcast, Adriana Vecchioli. She is a French-Italian actress, filmmaker and XR designer.
Formerly a software engineer, she left Twitter to follow her passion for filmmaking. Blending cutting-edge technology with artistry, Adriana then designed immersive experiences for Warner Bros., Disney, NBA, The Hunger Games, Coachella, Bose, Snapchat and more.
Layered female protagonists, dark humor and immersive storytelling are the staples of her universe. She’s written, successfully funded and directed three award-winning short films that she also starred in.
Her work has been exhibited at SXSW in Austin and in London, Paris, Barcelona and Los Angeles. A multicultural explorer with an avid curiosity, she speaks 5 languages and is an alumna of UCLA TFT and UCB in Los Angeles, ESCP Europe and Cours Florent in Paris.
Her current project is Mermaids - which is seeking funding via a Kickstarter launching at the end of the month.
